2.29 He it is Who created for you all that is IN the earth, and He directed Himself to the heaven , so He made them complete seven heavens, and He knows all things.

Without worms, we would have no atmosphere

(referred as seven heavens in this ayat)

(Troposphere, Stratosphere, Mesosphere, Thermosphere, Exosphere, Ionosphere, Magnetosphere)

They are the prime looseners of the soil and release the natural gases that complete/create our atmosphere.

Indirectly, “all that” in this ayat refers to mainly worms.
